short, sweet, and to the point...just like Maddy
Sister Thompson entered the Provo MTC today at 1:15. Earlier in the day, we finished up all her packing, and Carter surprised her with tater tots...if you know Maddy at all, you know that fried potatoes of any kind are her favorite thing! This was extra nice, since Maddy's nerves got the best of her during the night and she spent the night throwing up and sleeping on my floor. Poor girl! We met up with family for lunch at Main Street Pizza in Provo, and yes, we absolutely took a picture with the pizza angel wings just like Brit did on his MTC day. After lunch, we headed to the Provo Temple for some family pictures, hugs, tears, and lots of "I love you's". We dropped her at the MTC right on time. The sweet sister helping her took a few more pictures while we said goodbye one last time. Oh how I will miss this girl of mine! I put a few things in her room this afternoon and it was way too clean and much too empty. I keep checking the time and expecting her to come through the door after a day of school and working at the daycare. But it's all gonna be ok, because I know, without a doubt, that this is what she is meant to do. Maddy has a strong testimony and she is so ready to share it with the people of Japan.
This was the quick email she sent about an hour after we dropped her off:
I made it safe. I'm still freaking out a lot. My p-day is Wednesday.... I think... they said it in Japanese.
