week 3: kohai no more

In the MTC, we have nicknames depending on how long
we've been at the mtc learning Japanese.
Kohai: weeks 1-3
Senpai: weeks 4-6
Dai Senpai: weeks 7-9

Konnichiwa!

This week has had some ups and downs. It's crazy to think I have been here for 3 weeks. The time flies by. This week was really hard with Japanese. I felt like I wasn't getting it as much, but I know that the Lord is helping me everyday. My dai senpai (the group 6 weeks ahead of me) left. It was so sad because I grew really close to a lot of them. They were so kind and I know they will have amazing missions. The last night before they left, we all went to bed way late because we were taking pictures and we ended up having a snowball fight. It was super fun! Later today we get our kohai (new group). It's going to be so fun being more experienced and getting to help the kohai feel loved and welcome.

Funny keiken (experience): We had TRC (teaching resource center) where we basically we teach a lesson to members. So we were teaching and Gawrys Shimai was trying to explain her family and talk about them. She was trying to say older sister but said oni which is demon! It was hilarious. The member we were teaching was cracking up!

Spiritual keiken: For the Tuesday night devotional we had ... ELDER JEFFERY R HOLLAND!! He came and spoke to us! It was so cool. He talked about how we will never have the opportunity to be a missionary again so don't miss it. Don't miss one moment of it because it will never come again. This really applies to everything. We only have this one life and we shouldn't miss a moment of it.

I love you all. If you every want to ask me questions or tell me about your day I would love to hear from you and will do my best to respond.

New word : けいけん keiken : experience

Snow makes for some of the best moments!
We had lots of snowball fights this week...
I also shook this tree to see how much snow was really there...
so much more than I expected!

I have loved watching Hippolite Shimai in the snow.
She has only seen it a couple of times, so she loves everything about it!

Momma Thompson sent us all cup o noodles soup and temple stickers for our journals!

sure do love this girl right here!
