week 7: even monkeys fall from trees

Konnichiwa 皆さん (Minasan)

Wow what a great week! It's so crazy that I have been out for almost 2 months. I love every minute! So this week we learned a ton and reviewed a lot of the grammar patterns. Gawrys Shimai and I taught Yui and it was awesome, especially because we didn't have to time prepare for the lesson in the morning. We didn't have time because we had the opportunity to host the senior missionaries and they are so cute! We got to show them to their rooms and help them feel welcomed. It's one of my favorite things to do here at the MTC.

Funny keiken:  So in our class we aren't supposed to have food. A couple of the senkyoushi (missionaries) have had some trouble following this so our teacher made them pinkie swear not to eat in class. So Lavea Choro loves to bug Rasmussen Shimai about it because she is ALWAYS hungry. So he kept asking her during class if she was hungry, and she was joking with him about how he was trying to tempt her like Satan. Lavea Choro said he didn't offer her any food. He ended by saying "I did not beguile you." We all laughed! A lot! (After 7 weeks everything is really funny!).

Spiritual keiken:  So our speaker was Elder Renlund! He is our 3rd apostle! It's crazy that we have had that many apostles so close together and super rare for our zone. He talked about how Satan has changed the view in the world by making good look evil and evil look good.  It's so true and it's our job (senkyoushi or members) to help that view be corrected. It's amazing that I get the opportunity to be in the front lines of this and go and serve the people of Nihon.

New words: せんきょうし(senkyoushi) : missionary
                       猿も木から落ちる(sarumokikaraochiru): even monkeys fall from trees, anyone can make mistakes

I hope you all know 猿も木から落ちる is true. We all make mistakes, even if we are a professional.  I love you all. 愛してます。(i love you!)

castle in Utsuki LOVE THIS SHIMAI!! こんにちは Ready for the craziest week yet!? So this week we met this guy who lives at the top of a huge hill. We talked to him and he said "I'm not going to join your church." We were like "okay, do you like English?" And he took an eikaiwa flyer (more on him later). So we had a lot of crazy MIRACLES!  I can't even tell you how amazing this week was. We went to Utsuki to visit a member. She wasn't home but we dendoed around there, and it was really fun and right next to the ocean. We honestly were lead so many times. This transfer is Whitney Shimai's last one, she goes home on Friday. I can't express how much I love her and how much she has shaped my mission. She is amazing and America is lucky to get her back.  MAKE SURE TO READ THE STORY AT THE END IT IS CRAZY! Spiritual keiken: Well, we had an amazing lesson with Waka Chan and Yoko Shimai! week 6: scripture talk

Time here is flying. This week was pretty amazing. Gawrys Shimai and I taught some great and not so great lessons. But it's all good, because either way we learned something new. We got a new investigator. Her name is Yui Kuwakara. She is super sweet and patient.  The oldest group of missionaries in our zone left for Nihon (Japan). My district is the next one to leave which is crazy. This week has had lots of laughs and some tears. Missions aren't easy, but they are worth it. week 13: golden week of miracles

knitting a hat for a soon-to-be baby in our ward! こんにちは So because of the weird transfer last week there are only a few days to write about. So yesterday was Miracle Monday!  We saw so many miracles. We had church and the members are so nice and kind. We had another great lesson with Tanaka San and she is progressing amazingly. Friday was a crazy p-day and we were biking all around Kurume and it was not very relaxing, but it was good that we got a lot of things done. Spiritual keiken: Yesterday we saw lots of miracles! We biked for 45 mins to try to find a less actives apartment.  She lives really far away. We found the apartment and she was not home. We had a little bit of time before we needed to head back home to get home on time and so we knocked a few doors. We knocked on one door and a man opened the door. He was nice and really curious about why two Gaijin (foreigners)  were at his door. He invited us in (his wife was home so we were good to go in)...
