week 14: and the rains came down
こんいちは
This week was fun and full of surprises. We didn't transfer! Another transfer together but our area got moved to a different district! We are now in the Sasabo district! We have a 3 1/2 hour train ride each way to get to our district meetings every Tuesday! We are so excited and not sure how it is all going to work. We had a ton of rain this week and it is only the beginning of the rainy season. It's crazy. We have rain suits (かっぱ) that we wear all the time. We also had a lot of miracles. We had some stress and a lot of fun!

Spiritual keiken: We had a lesson with Megumi San. He is from our English class and it was supposed to be a bible class but we ended up teaching the restoration. It was amazing. We taught in part English because he is trying to learn english. I was able to bear testimony and teach in English. It was super spiritual.
Funny keiken: Last P-day we spent our entire P-day with our investigator Tanaka San. We taught a lesson to her and our less active Ogawa shimai and then had lunch and ended up chatting all p-day and learned about Dotera (they love it).
I got to talk to my family today and that was amazing! I love you all and I miss you all! Japan is amazing and fabulous!!
Love-
Thompson Shimai
Note from the mama:
We talked to Miss Maddy tonight. Oh how happy she is! She radiates with the light of Christ. She laughed a lot and smiled the whole time. The language is coming slowly, but she has absolute faith that she will get it...eventually. In the meantime, the Lord is filling in the gaps when needed and helping her be the best missionary she can be right now. Maddy loves the food in Japan...she admitted she will be a "rice snob" when she gets home! She also says nothing in America can beat Japanese ice cream or the cookie dough covered in bread dessert. She adores her trainer! She is busy, exhausted, happy, optimistic, and filled with faith and a strong testimony of this gospel and the Book of Mormon.
Maddy's testimony (translated from Japanese by her uncle Mike)
I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know everyone can receive Jesus Christ's love. God loves us all. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know the Book of Mormon helps us in this life. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet. I know Russell M Nelson is a prophet. God loves us all. I know the church of Jesus Christ is true. I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Just finished skyping the fam!!
