week 12: what shall we eat?
YUMMY ICE CREAM! MELON PAN ICE SANDWICH!
(also that phone on the wall...we don't use it, but it made my momma all nostalgic!)
こんにちは
This week was great! Kinda crazy because we switched our pday from Monday to Friday. We switched it because we went to the temple today!! It was amazing and beautiful. I am so grateful that we could go today. So earlier this week, Dimmitt Shimai was super sick. We stayed in the apartment for 5 days with a few attempts to dendou. It was hard to be in for so long. The members are amazing though and brought us food. It was so kind. Eventually we got the okay to go dendou, and we had a blast! The days passed super quick though. We taught Tanaka San, and she is amazing and still planning on baptism! We also taught Okeya San. We taught him over line. Line is a an amazing app that lots of Japanese people use. Its a mix of texting, snapchat and lots of other social medias! It was really cool using technology to further the work! We are in such a blessed time! This week was/is Golden week. So it's the one week where tons of people don't have work and so the streets are packed and tons of people are home, so lots of dendou!
Spiritual keiken: So like I said earlier we moved our pday. Near the end of the weekend, we were running super low on food and it was looking like we might have to do an emergency grocery run. But on Sunday and for few days after members brought us a ton of food! It was an amazing blessing and really cool. Its like in 3 Nephi 13:
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 For your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient is the day unto the evil thereof.
Amazing blessing!
Funny keiken: There are so many funny things that happen every day. Today we got a ride home from the temple from an amazing member, Nihara shimai! She gave us food to eat in the car, and she gave each of us a banana. Dimmitt Shimai doesn't like bananas so we had to be sneaky and I ate both the bananas. It is so nice when the members give us food, and we never want to be rude by not eating it. So it was just funny that we were so sneaky!
New words:
ぱん (pan): bread
ほこく(hokoku): to report
くずす (kuzusu): to destroy
I love you all so much! I love Japan and the opportunity to serve the Lord!

Bits and Pieces from family emails:
I think I'm getting dry eye from all the biking, but eyedrops are helping. I can get on and off my bike like a princess! The bike ride to my church is about 10 minutes, but we can do it 3 if we're running late!!
I've tried lots of new breads this week, and some new sushi...all soooo good!!! I love black thunder bars which are a kind of chocolate bar.
I taught English to a little girl this week in our class. I miss all the teaching ideas on pinterest!
