week 24: God will push us
ice cream pancakes are to die for!
こんにちは
Hello everyone! This week had a lot of adventures. We met so many amazing people. I'm doing great and loving every minute of it! I learned a lot this week. One thing I learned was that God will push us farther than we think we can go, because we can go farther than we think we can! This is so true. On a mission, God is pushing you really far all the time. Some days you feel like it's too much and you're going to break. But if you hold on a little longer, you can see you will be able go a little bit farther. It's hard but you learn more. This is a lesson I feel I learn all the time, every day.
Spiritual keiken: Okay miracle this week! We have this less active we have been teaching and her daughter is an investigator. We taught them a lot and the mom's faith is exploding! She loves the gospel library app and all the videos on it. They have been really nervous about coming to church but Saturday we got them to agree to come to church. Then at 9:15 Sunday we got a text from the mom saying they wouldn't be coming. We were devastated. We told them if they changed their minds to please come. Church started and we were about to begin the opening song when Whitney Shimai got a message saying they were outside. We ran (literally ran) out the chapel and down the stairs to meet them! They came and loved church. They want to come every week! Talking with them after, we found out that waka chan (the daughter) had been up late the night before and was asleep late into the morning. Her mom didn't want to wake her so she told us they weren't coming. Right after she sent the text, waka chan woke up and was like "mom why didn't you wake me up. Let's go to church" and then they ran to church! Miracle!
Funny keiken: We were dendouing and ran into an orange haired grandma. She was so funny. She kept telling us to have hope and keep going because there were people like her who would listen to us, but not her because she was too old. She kept telling us to go find the young people. It was really funny, because she was so genki (healthy, energy). It was fun to talk to her.
New words
げんき(genki): healthy, energy
せいこう(seikou): success
ちしき(chishiki):knowledge
I love you all. I miss you all so much. I know this church is true and that God loves each one of us! Have a wonderful week.
Love Thompson Shimai

The biggest thing I have learned so far on my mission is to be humble...the answer to so many things is to humble yourself.
