week 29: just give it to God

Kumamoto/Nagasaki zone training こんにちは Hello everyone! So this week was a week of doctors... On Tuesday we called the doctor because Hayward shimai was still sick. He told us to go to a doctor, so Watanabe shimai from the ward drove us and helped us there. We spent a few hours there and didn't really learn what the problem was. Then on Friday night we took a 3 hour bus ride to Fukuoka. We stayed with the shimai's there, and then on Saturday morning went to an international doctor to have a check up for some issues she had last transfer. The doctor is now running some tests to see if he can find why she she is so sick. So yeah, that was fun...haha!  It's been a crazy week.  Short review: Monday- pday Tuesday- doctor appointment 1 Wednesday - district meeting (they moved it so we could go) and eikaiwa (English classes) Thursday- a little dendoing in the morning but then in the rest of the day Friday- lesson with Koichi san and got on a bus to Fukuoka  Sat...

Exhanges with Cordero Shimai and Dean Shimai (also from A.F.!) こんにちは Okay so this week was interesting. Hayward Shimai has been sick so we stayed inside pretty much all week. I have had a lot of time to study, so I'm loving the scriptures!  We also had junkais (exchanges) this week! So we had zone conference and that was so powerful! We talked bout using the 12 steps of addiction recovery to overcome any of our weaknesses. The 12 steps include: using the doctrine of Christ, having faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism (covenants), accepting and using the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. It was really cool and something that will help us all use the atonement more. I loved the trainings given. Another lesson was on our spirit language aka: how we personally feel the spirit. It was cool. In the training they asked us, "how is our spirit unique"? I have never thought of that but it was really powerful.  Spiritual keiken:  So on junkais I was w...

week 27: I killed Whitney Shimai

Missing my other half so much! Sister Whitney taught me and loved me and I'll miss her always! こんにちは This week was a lot of change! We had transfers! I am now companions with Sister Hayward. She was just in Fukuoka. She is super sweet and loves books. So in this mission when a missionary returns home, we say they died and whoever was their last companion is their killer. So I killed Sister Whitney and that was crazy! We said goodbye to a lot of people and had so many miracles! We ate the best yakiniku (a place where you cook your own meat on a grill in the table), it was so fancy! Okamoto San wore a yukata (traditional japanese clothing-- male version)! It was the best, and then the next day we had a lesson with him. We also met with our referral and he is amazing and could actually be baptized any day. He is going on a trip, so we are going to meet when he comes back in October.   Funny keiken:  So I was getting a new companion this week right? So Whitney Shim...

castle in Utsuki LOVE THIS SHIMAI!! こんにちは Ready for the craziest week yet!? So this week we met this guy who lives at the top of a huge hill. We talked to him and he said "I'm not going to join your church." We were like "okay, do you like English?" And he took an eikaiwa flyer (more on him later). So we had a lot of crazy MIRACLES!  I can't even tell you how amazing this week was. We went to Utsuki to visit a member. She wasn't home but we dendoed around there, and it was really fun and right next to the ocean. We honestly were lead so many times. This transfer is Whitney Shimai's last one, she goes home on Friday. I can't express how much I love her and how much she has shaped my mission. She is amazing and America is lucky to get her back.  MAKE SURE TO READ THE STORY AT THE END IT IS CRAZY! Spiritual keiken: Well, we had an amazing lesson with Waka Chan and Yoko Shimai! The spirit was so strong and they came to church!!!...
