week 52: He knows best
bike helmets aren't so bad!
こんにちは、
Okay so this week was fun and crazy we had a lot of lessons (like 13) and we had so much fun. Sister Jorgensen is awesome! We work hard but have a ton of fun and she is super hilarious! This week we had a couple dinners with members and yes actual AMERICAN PIZZA was there! We had DTM which now is District Council. We talked about working with Recent Converts, Returning Members, and with Part-member families. Afterwards, we had a lunch with a referral and she is super nice and wants to come to church on Sunday. We met with Maria and she is still progressing. Thursday we helped the Garcia family . They are looking for a school (Japanese) to put the youngest in, and we went to translate. It was way fun and I got to tour a Japanese kindergarten! Dude, American schools need to up their game! It was so nice! On Saturday we made plans with members and returning members to go see the cherry blossoms and as we were on our way they canceled, but we built really solid relationships with the members and it was so pretty.
Funny keiken: On the way to the blossoms we stopped to eat lunch and Sister Anderton told her son he was hot because he was wearing a black shirt. And he responded with "that's racist." I love children!
Also we went through a major culture shock. We went on base to the grocery store to help a member and we were shocked. The member was laughing at us so hard because we literally couldn't believe the size of everything or the set up. So maybe one day I will be used to it all again!
Spiritual keiken: Okay not a lot of details on this one, sorry! But throughout my mission I have prayed for one thing to find. I have prayed for this specific thing consistently, and this week, I found it! And it was an answer to a prayer I had given up hope on being answered at this time. So it was a surprise and really a wonderful blessing.
Heavenly Father answers every prayer, but it is truly in his timing. We can't speed it up or slow it down but patiently trust that He knows best.
New words:
かんどう(kandou): deeply moved emotionally
いらっしゃいませ(Irasshaimase): welcome (used in litteraly every store)
I love you all!
Love,
