week 71: the first of the lasts
Cause if you have a Hiroshima baseball jersey,
it's definitely time for a photo shoot!
こんにちは!HELLO Family and Friends
This week was
awesome and way fast. On Monday, member met us at Costco and we got lunch there
with the elders and them. Then we heart attacked one of our Eikaiwa students.
Tuesday we had zone conference. It was
amazing and so much fun. I was able to meet so many old friends and see my son
and grandson! (Mission lingo: son--he was being trained and I was the oldest in
the zone, grandson--the elder my son is training). Wednesday we went to an
Okonomiyaki museum with our Japanese class and made Hiroshima okonomiyaki.
(Some more practice and I will be a pro!) Then we played basketball with a
bunch of potential investigators. Thursday we had junkais! I got to go with
Watanabe 姉妹I love her. We first met when I was transfer 4
and she was transfer 3. We taught a lesson together and had eikaiwa that night.
Then Friday we taught english to a member and later had a lesson with Soejima
san! It was a good lesson. Saturday we were gone literally all day with so many
appointments . We had a dance concert for one of the members (it was her last
one, she is a senior in high school). Her friends were all so excited to see us
and they killed it. Then we went to lunch with all the members. We also went to
a way fancy Italian restaurant with the mom gang and kentoro (an eikaiwa
student). It was fun and we ate so much food! Sunday we had church and I gave a
talk. It probably was my last official talk in Japan. Also Okinaga san came to
church so that was way good. A bunch of members had gone to the temple this
week so we had a lot to talk about.
Funny keiken:
Okay so Sunday night I usually start my load of laundry because the
washer/dryer takes forever. So I was starting my load and an error came up that
said CF so we figured it was "clean filters". So I cleaned them and
it started. I hopped in the shower and when I got out, there was another error.
This one was FE... no idea so I just cleaned the filters again. It started
again and got way full of water and the error popped up again. So I asked sister
Berg and she had no idea. So I cleaned the filters again and let me tell you
that water was freezing!! My arm was so cold! So I tried again and got the same
error. We called our beloved elders and they had no idea. Then my amazing
companion began to randomly push buttons. And some how she got it to drain and
possibly work... we'll find out when we do laundry this week!
Spiritual
keiken : So zone conference is always way special and spiritual. This one was way special because it was my
last. At the end there is a spot for missionaries to bear their testimonies and
of course, I needed to for my last time. I definitely cried. I have come to
realize how much I love this work and the life of a missionary. It has grown my testimony so much! I love
this gospel so much!
New words:
にんき (ninki): popularity
きえる (kieru): to go out, to vanish, to
disappear
I love you
all! I love Japan!
