week 8: Nihon here I come!

こんいちわ 皆さん

This is my last p-day in the MTC which is crazy!! This week has been great and sad (because we are leaving). Gawrys Shimai and I taught a lot of lessons and had a ton of fun! Our zone and especially our district have gotten so close. Honestly, the MTC is so fun if you make it that way. Our devotional speaker this week was Elder Schmutz. He gave an amazing devotional about our purpose as Senkyoushi (missionaries) and testimonies.

Funny けいけん : So Gawrys Shimai and I were teaching our investigator Higashimuki San (he is one of our teachers). We asked what he did today and he then asked what we did. We told him we walked around south Tokyo. Our teacher knows we don't know the area so he asked where we walked around. We quickly pulled up Google maps and picked a random city. We said Yokohama. Our teacher said "that's cool that's where my house is... this one... we are in Yokohama". It took us all a few minutes to get it together because we were laughing so hard!

Spiritual けいけん: I finished the Book of Mormon. Our Branch President gave us the challenge to read the Book of Mormon in the 9 weeks that we are at the MTC. It was amazing reading it again and getting a whole new perspective on it. I know the Book of Mormon is true and if you read it and with real intent, and ask God if it is true (Moroni 10 :4-5), the Holy Ghost will testify of the truth of this book. I learned a lot about missionary work and faith and the love of God when I read this time.

New words: 狐 (きつね)  (kitsune) :fox
                      神様 (かみさま) (Kamisama): God

I love you all so much! It's crazy the next time I email I will be in Nihon! (Japan)! I am so excited to share God's love with the people!

Ran into my old stake president and his wife their last day before leaving to Paraguay!

When you go to fill your water bottles, and the counter shows 662 water bottles saved,
what do you do?
Obviously, you and your doriyo drink four more water bottles to bring the number to 666!

One more awkward neighbor pic with Elder Meyer before he leaves for Cebu

Realizing I'm gonna need soooo much dramamine!

The MTC is truly a beautiful place. There is nothing like it anywhere.

My district:
Davis Choro, Bentley Choro, Ellsworth Choro, Stanley Choro,
Hippolite Shimai, Rasmussen Shimai, Gawrys Shimai, Elder Nilsson, me, Parrack Shimai, Murphy Shimai, Tsuchiyama Shimai, Lavea Choro

I'm so excited to leave Monday for Nihon, but so sad to leave these people I have grown to love so much. The MTC will always have a special place in my heart.
