week 48: miracles are raining down
Tender mercyπ
My cousin and his family are in Okinawa for a few days. I gave him the mission home email/phone in hopes he’d be able to talk to someone and get a phone number for Maddy. He hadn’t heard back. He took his family to church and just happened to be at Maddy’s building while she was there! The Lord is truly watching over His missionaries and letting them know they are remembered and loved. And in turn, I know that He knows me and He loves me. If ever we doubt His love, or we wonder if He is there, all we need to do is ask. He will find a way to let us know He is there.

So miracles are raining down here in Okinawa! So little summary! We had New Years! So we went up to Shuri castle and watched the ceremony and learned a lot. It was way fun! On Thursday we met with a member of the relief society and talked with her about missionary work. We got a list of members they want us to help and a list of part member families. It was amazing! Friday one of the members invited all the missionaries over for dinner and we all played games! So fun! On Saturday, we had sports day and some members came and it was a blast. Then the pouring down of miracles on Sunday! First, Maria came to church! She came and it turned out she knew people there and she was way touched by everyone talking about families. We also had a ton of referrals given to us with members working on setting up the appointments. And we had a returning member family come! Later, we taught the returning members and more on that later. While we were trying to find other members homes, we ran into a different returning member and she talked to us about why she stopped coming to church and we exchanged numbers! Also at church, my mom's cousin was there! He and his family are visiting Okinawa and happened to come to the ward I'm in! So crazy and such a blessing! I can't believe all the miracles!
Funny keiken: So we went to a members house and played games and that included BS... but we said γγ which is lie in Japanese. It was way funny because we played as companionships and Elder Larson and Elder Smith were hardcore losing! It was so funny! They had half the deck which made it so hard to lie. Omine shimai was playing with her son and he would sometimes say they were lying too and it was funny! Then at one point, the elders lied and got away with it, but right when we figured out they had lied, Omine shimai said "you missed your chance!" In english! It was so funny!
Spiritual keiken: So we had a lesson with a returning member family and we learned during the lesson that one of the kids was a half sibling and just came to stay with them. Later we learned she was not a member but had a little interest. We taught the first lesson and the spirit was so strong. It was amazing to find a way to help unite this family and we are so excited to see where it goes.
New words:
γγ (uso): lie
γ©γγ©γ(raburabu): head over heels in love
γγγ¦γγγ§γ¨γγγγγΎγ(aketeomedetougozaimasu): happy new year!
I love you all! This week I learned a lot about the importance of family! I hope you know how blessed each of you are. I know families will be together forever though the plan of salvation. Families are the most important way for us to grow. They are there for us and always love us. I love my family so much!
Love!
