week 20: cockroaches are not our friends

district lunch with Yearkley Choro, Jorgensen Shimai, Woffinden Shimai, Stock Choro, and Dimmitt Shimai こんにちは Well this week has been an adventure. Sister Dimmitt got sick, so 6 out of the 7 days for senpai week we were inside. So senpai week is where I am senior companion for a whole week. I won't complain that we spent time inside. It was hard to find enough things to do, but youth videos, face to face videos and devotional videos helped me learn a lot. So last Monday was the only day we really went out, and it was really hard being senpai but I survived! Yesterday was miracle Monday and we taught lessons all day. We have amazing investigators!  Megumi San is one of them. He loves music so before every lesson we jam out on the piano and the guitar. Spiritual keiken:  This week I watched a lot of face to face videos and devotional videos.  I watched the recent YSA devotional from May and I highly suggest it to everyone. It talked about forgetting yourself ...

I love you all! こんにちは Lots of fun cool experiences this week. We had lots of laughter and fun! We biked crazy far! (Yes I have actual bike muscles now). This week we went and saw the Kurume castle ruins and had a nice relaxing P-day.  We also got to go to Sasebo for district meeting. The train ride is over 2 hrs to get there. Lots of studying on the train. For eikaiwa this week we added a Book of Mormon reading class. We read the Book of Mormon after Eikaiwa and it was cool and hard. A lot of our students stayed for it though! Yay! We had 2 senpai days which were really hard, and this week is senpai week, so I'm senior companion all week (hopefully I don't die). We met a ton of Christians this week and talked about Christ with them. We also tried less active phone dendoing and met some nice people. We had stake conference on Sunday and I have a funny story with that! Spiritual keiken: We meet a mom who we introduced the Book of Mormon to! We shared with her 1 N...

week 18: tsuyu has arrived

Image
tsuyu=perfect hydrangeas こんにちは! This week flew! We had Mensetsu (interviews) on Tuesday and so I got to see my old district again!  I also had my last interview with kaichou.  Next transfer we get a new president! Super sad and excited! Tsuyu has arrived. It is a month of rain and more rain. The hydrangeas are gorgeous though. They only bloom during tsuyu. A nice grandma gave us some pretty pink ones and they are beautiful. Lots of mogi's (rolyplays) this week. We are using them to teach less actives. We had a lesson with Tanaka San and she is progressing little by little. We also had a lesson with Megumi San and invited him to baptism.  He isn't  sure yet, but we think he will know soon. We also had so much fun visiting less actives this week. They are so nice! Funny keiken: Okay, so we went to Tosu this week which is really far. We took a train to get there. We met this guy named Naoya San who has been trying to meet with us for a month to talk about En...

week 17: perfected in Christ

Image
biking all day...every day! こんにちは Well this week flew just like usual. We had so many miracles!  It's been hard and crazy this week. We had a very packed schedule. We meet so many people here who know of Christ. They don't believe in Him, but they know about him. Most of Japan doesn't really believe in God or are not part of a religion.  It's crazy how many prepared people there are. I love meeting them all. We met this one girl this week who was Christian but not currently active. That was cool. I don't know if i mentioned this last week, but we now have Pocket Wifi! Amazing blessing because now we can message our investigators anywhere, and if we get lost its okay! Spiritual keiken:  On Wednesday we were going to this area that we have been wanting to visit for awhile. We start going and the Spirit tells us to go a different way, so we do. On the way we see Yasuo San. He is an Eikaiwa student (english class)  and has been on our minds a lot. We ...
